Istituto Europeo di Design is a network of innovation, creativity and technology. Founded almost thirty years ago, today the IED Group is the leading Italian private institute for the training of professionals in the fields of Design, Fashion and Visual Art Disciplines. The Istituto Europeo di Design adopts training methodology that combines the transmission of knowledge with a concrete approach towards the world of industry and towards the market. The same methodology is transmitted and diffused among all of its seats in Milan, Rome, Turin and Madrid, and applied to all courses offered within its three main teaching Divisions: IED Moda Lab, IED Design, and IED Arti Visive.
The members of the Fashion, Design and Visual Art School Faculties guide their students along an education pathway that creates links among theory and practice, logic and experimentation, strategy and pragmatism: the same binomials that counter-distinguish the corporate realities with which we have constant relations of exchange and mutual enrichment with. All theory lessons held in our seats are always flanked by creative brainstorming sessions, workshops and collaboration with various enterprises operating in each specific reference sector. These activities are an integrated part of our training programmes with the set goal of providing our students with a concrete and realistic vision of the working world.
The Istituto Europeo di Design therefore, targets its activities to innovative training modalities: intellectual confrontation and team work thus, permitting students to build their professional identity through concrete experiences. Moreover, advanced, sophisticated technologies are also at the disposal of students, in view of completing and raising their levels of competencies, rendering them more competitive after graduation.
Technological innovations and didactic experimentation, expressiveness of messages and integrated communication, market problems and new professionalism: the key IED Group goal is to transmit to young professionals, working in the fields of Design, Fashion and Visual Art, project and communication cultures which will accompany them throughout their entire career.
Every year the Istituto Europeo di Design welcomes thousands of students of different origins and cultures. It is a living organism where it is possible to breathe a young, international and multiethnic atmosphere in constant evolution. Hence, not just a school of design, but also a school of life. A life built upon values such as the exchange of ideas, of cultures, of project approaches, professions and upon different experiences.
IED students enrol from around the world and can set off from here to follow a career in any corporate or free-lance reality. The universality of IED methodology offers the opportunity to its students to become fully-fledged citizens of the world, ready to fit into any working reality that fosters strong, concrete design culture.

Basic Study Programme
Three-year courses for school- or university-leavers entering the design profession.
Continuing Study Programme
Specialist courses, length as applicable: the techniques and tools for addressing change in the market-place. Summer School. Purpose-designed Summer School.
Advanced Study Programme
Six-month and summer courses for university students, graduates, and young professionals; small number of internships available. Residential summer schools.
