Last 9 June in the elegant Palazzo Visconti, Milan, the prizegiving of the first edition of the competition “Icedream Graphic Design Under 30 “ took place - organized by Burgo Distribution (division of Cartiere Burgo) in cooperation with AIAP (Italian Association for the Design of Visual Communication) and Linea Grafica.
Object at hand, the design for original graphics tables for the presentation of the new range of Icedream paper, created by Cordenons and distributed exclusively for Italy by Burgo Distribution.
The features of whiteness and luminosity of the Icedream paper have stimulated the imagination (and the talent) of some hundred young designers, who subjected their entries to the jury presided over by Mario Piazza (AIAP) and constituted by Giusi Brivio (Linea Grafica), Giovanni Brunazzi (Universitą Cattolica, Milan), Ugo Nespolo (artist) and Gabriele Girardi (Burgo Distribuzione). Lucia Roscini won the first prize, with a concept that develops the theme of the presence and non-presence (photo).
The award was preceded by “Paper?Forever!”, a round table discussion, at which participated as well as the member of the jury Gianni Cattardo (TP), Enrico Montangero (Assocomunicazione), Michelangelo Tagliaferro (Accademia di Comunicazione) and Gianni Quarleri (journalist). The experts commented on the enviable state of health of paper welcomed with satisfaction that, long from being threatened by the digital revolution, is confirmed as the main vehicle for transmitting information and aboveall emotions.
